The power catwalk is an automated device used for the transportation of drill pipes, drill collars, casings, and other tubulars. It adopts an integrated design of machine, electricity, and hydraulics, achieving bidirectional transportation of tubulars between the ground pipe discharge area and the drilling platform area through steel wire rope lifting and small pulley movement. It mainly consists of a base, ramp, drilling column delivery device, support, hydraulic system, and electrical control system.
The equipment features three control modes: remote wireless control, local emergency, and integrated control by the driller. It is easy to operate, allowing personnel to stay away from the tubular discharge area, thus improving operational safety. It is an ideal automated tubular handling device.
